Discover the art of fermentation with River Cottage’s Rachel de Thample, as she guides you through the science of different preserving methods.

In this flavoursome experience, Rachel will explore the techniques that prevent seasonal produce from spoiling, outline the healthiest methods of preserving food and showcase how sugar, vinegar and salt work to make your abundant harvests last longer.

You’ll also get the chance to create your own delicious pickle to take home with you, and sample a bottled taste of late summer - featuring River Cottage grown produce!

About Rachel de Thample

Rachel has worked in the kitchens of Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal and Peter Gordon, and has served as Commissioning Editor of Waitrose Food Illustrated and as Head of Food for Abel & Cole.

Today, she works with the River Cottage - teaching their preserves and fermentation courses - and is the author of the best-selling River Cottage Fermentation Handbook.
