Michael is Professor of Applied Dementia Research at the University of Southampton, with over 25 years of experience in dementia research. He has held academic positions at the University of Cambridge, the University of New South Wales, and the University of East Anglia.
Alongside his research, Michael is a is passionate about communicating the science of dementia to the public. His debut book, Tangled Up: The History and Science of Alzheimer’s Disease, was published in 2025.
