About Dr Marina Escalera Zamudio

Dr Marina is an expert in virus evolution, genomics and epidemiology. She is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London (UCL) and a Rosetrees-UCL Excellence Fellow.

She leads international projects on virus evolution, including developing new AI approaches to predicting immune escape in viruses, and social-oriented programs to build sustainable genomic epidemiology virus surveillance systems in Mexico.

About Dr Cenk Celik

Dr Celik is a Research Fellow at University College London. He studies how cancers grow, change and sometimes lie dormant, using advanced computer-based tools to map their positions within a tumour.

By combining this cellular “conversation map” with cutting-edge AI data analysis, Cenk’s work sheds light on how cancer is shaped by its environment and how its hidden dynamics could inform future treatments.
