We've launched our Festival Highlights for 2024 - seven spectacular, not-to-miss events which include an inspirational talk from wildlife cameraman and master of the Strictly dancefloor, Hamza Yassin, and a family show from BAFTA award-winning YouTuber, Maddie Moate!

Norwich Science Festival returns Saturday 17 – Saturday 24 February 2024, with a jam-packed programme of shows, talks, and workshops for everyone to enjoy, including plenty of events designed to help families make the most of the February half-term!

Hamza Yassin: My Life Behind the Lens

For keen birders and wildlife fans, Strictly star Hamza Yassin at Norwich Cathedral is not to be missed! From his early life in Sudan to his career as a wildlife cameraman and presenter (including on his own successful documentary programme, Hamza: Strictly Birds of Prey), Hamza will share insight into his life behind the lens. Presented in partnership with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. (Thu 22 Feb, £23.50) 

Maddie's Wildlife Rangers

BAFTA award-winner Maddie Moate invites families to explore the wonderful world of animal conservation, where children can become honorary wildlife rangers in her family show at Norwich Theatre Royal. (Sat 17 Feb, £10-13.50).

The Science of Beer-making with Jaega Wise (plus tasting)

Discover the science behind your favourite pint with BBC Radio 4 presenter and award-winning brewer, Jaega Wise at YALM Foodhall. With the opportunity to taste a selection of local beers, this is perfect for those who love the pub! (Sun 18 Feb, £25) 

Dr Daniel Olaiya's Scientific Space Adventure

CBBC’s Operation Ouch! presenter Dr Daniel Olaiya will take kids on an adventure to space and beyond, in his medicine meets cosmos, must-see family show at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. (Sun 18 Feb, Adult £16/Child £11)

Clu'Dunnit: A CSI Experience

Former Scotland Yard Detective Chief Inspector Steve Gaskin will give you the chance to solve a murder in a unique hands-on CSI experience hosted at The Assembly House. This immersive show promises a thrilling evening of crime scene investigation – can you find the killer before your time is up? (Tue 20 Feb, £25) 

How to Build a Racing Car with Fran Scott

TV engineer Fran Scott will reveal how to build an eco-racing car at Epic Studios – with plenty of amazing demonstrations and an awful lot of mess along the way! (Fri 23 Feb, £5) 

Stand-up Science

The Edinburgh Fringe comes to Norwich in a hilarious comedy show with a STEMM twist, Stand-up Science at The Refectory Bakery and Cafe. Giggles guaranteed as comedians and scientists compete to make you laugh - plus pastries and drinks available to purchase from Bread Source! (Fri 23 Feb, £12.50)
