The Youth STEMM Award are teaming up with the Food and Farming Discovery Trust to find the next generation of science communicators! The competition is open for young people aged 13-19 to produce videos around the topic of conscious consumerism, food and health.
Students are encouraged to work through the free Conscious Consumer resource packs (available here) to find out more about the topics. We are challenging young people to do some further research in these or related topics and create a 3 minute video to inspire and engage others.
The competition is open to individuals or groups aged 13-19 and entries must be submitted between 24th Oct and 18th Dec.
Prizes are kindly donated by LUSH Norwich and winning videos will be showcased in January 2021.
Your video entries will be judged by an expert panel of science communicators including:
Marty Jopson is TV presenter, performer and author and resident scientist on BBC’s The One Show.
Oliver Roberts (known as Olly) is a 24 year old farmer and farming and countryside YouTuber, trying to show the general public where their food comes from, by creating interesting farming related content. Oliver was born in Norwich and grew up on the family's farm in Heckingham, Norfolk. Oliver then went on to study general Agriculture at Writtle University College, after studying Agriculture, Oliver then travelled around and worked on various farms across Europe, including the Czech republic and Germany. Upon returning home, feeling newly inspired, Olly's Farm was born, a social media brand, with the objective of showing Olly's passion for farming, and educating people on how their food was produced, and to show the lifestyle of a modern day farmer.
Thanks to Chadacre Agricultural Trust for funding this project!
