A film screening exploring the history of mental health and science

Media Historian Tim Snelson hosts a screening of three short films developed in partnership with the Science Museum, which contextualise three objects within the museum’s medical collections – a straitjacket, an EEG machine, and sand trays used in children’s play therapy.

Featuring clips from old British movies, this event will explore the interactions between media and mental health and consider the ways in which cinema can be used to understand science artefacts.
