BAFTA-winning wildlife expert, presenter and author, Steve Backshall MBE shares stories from his career to date, in this very special in conversation event with evolutionary biologist Professor Ben Garrod.
The pair will deep dive into some of Steve's most memorable wildlife encounters and the conservation work he feels so passionately about. Steve will also speak about his new memoir, Deep Blue, a love-letter to our precious oceans.

For events taking place on campus at the University of East Anglia, we recommend a sustainable method of transport - such as walking, cycling or public transport - if you are able.
Guests arriving on campus by car should park in the main car park. There is a flat rate fee of £1 on Saturdays. On arrival, take a token and when you leave, you will need to pay at the payment machines before you can exit the car park. Please note that these machines are cash only.
Norwich Science Festival tickets can only be booked online on our website at norwichsciencefestival.co.uk. We are not able to take bookings over the phone or in person.
There is a limit of maximum ten tickets per transaction. If you wish to book more tickets, you will need to complete another transaction.
Please note that some bookings are made via our booking system, Ticketsolve, and other events must be booked directly through our partner venues, such as Norwich Theatre.
Please show your ticket (printed or mobile) on entry to the event, or give your name which will appear on a customer list.

Refunds are not offered for paid-for events, unless an event is cancelled or postponed.
Occasionally, events may be cancelled at short notice due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control. In the event of cancellation of pre-book events, every endeavor will be made to contact ticket holders and refunds will be offered. We regret that we may not be able to offer an alternative for cancelled events. Please check the website for up-to-date event information.
Admission to the event is at the discretion of the event organiser.
Events will run in line with local and national government guidelines at the time of the Festival.
We have included an approximate age recommendation for all events, based on the content and level of understanding required. Please note that some events are for ages 16+ and 18+ only.

Steve Backshall is a BAFTA award-winning wildlife expert, television presenter, author and speaker. He is best known for his captivating television career, including the phenomenally successful BBC series, Deadly 60, and his work on the seven-year BBC documentary project, Our Changing Planet.
His passion for the natural world, combined with his daring and adventurous nature, continues to inspire audiences of all ages.
Ben Garrod is an evolutionary biologist, academic, broadcaster and author. He has written several books, covering a range of subjects including evolution to animal behaviour.
He is known for his many appearances on TV and radio, having appeared alongside Sir David Attenborough and Professor Alice Roberts.
