Don't miss this free family friendly weekend!

Norwich Science Festival takes over Waterloo Park in Norwich, with amazing entertainment for all the family! This free event, sponsored by Pensthorpe Natural Park, includes bee-themed walkabout acts, bug-inspired crafting, face painting, and a special guest appearance from CBeebies star, vet and author Jess French. 

There will also be stands from Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Pensthorpe Natural Park, RSPB, Norfolk Museums Service, a pop-up bookshop from Bookbugs and Dragon Tales and much more. Don’t miss this outdoor celebration of science and nature!

Drop-in between 11am - 4pm each day. No need to book! Perfect for primary school aged children.

Here's a taster of some of the activities you can enjoy:

Make your own bird feeder using recycled materials with the RSPB.

Take part in the 'Bug or Beast' games and activities from the Zoological Society Of East Anglia (Saturday only)

Discover the wonder of minibeasts with Norfolk Wildlife Trust, make paper potters and plant a flower for pollinators, play a natural history matching game, and take a guided plant ID tour (adults). (Sunday only)

Join in the giant colouring challenge with Dodo and Dinosaur, and do the dinosaur trail!

See insect specimens from Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery (Norfolk Museums Service), and discover diversity, evolution and general wonderment in the natural world!

Have a go at the microbe rubbings trail from UEA Biology, examine preserved ground beetles and learn about the latest citizen science project, plus readings from Blake's Small Adventure (Paramecium Press) by Rachel Clading and Bookbugs and Dragon Tales.

Make a bee hotel with Bee Saviour Behaviour, play bee spotter bingo, join a bee ID walk, and enter your best bee photo from the weekend into a competition!

Plus bug drawing with Charli Vince, learn about soil with the Master Composters, and discover the inventions Summer Reading Challenge with Norfolk Library and Information Service.


Plus paid workshops: Busy Bees for ages 3-5 and Beasts of the Future Wild creative writing workshop for ages 15+.
