Soil Salvation

How Soil Might Save Us

This is an event from the 2019 edition

Globally, soils store far more carbon than the atmosphere. And so if small incremental gains can be made to increase soil carbon, very large gains will be realised for climate change mitigation. Furthermore, higher carbon soils could be healthier – and healthier soils will deliver increased global food security. This talk from UEA’s Dr Brian Reid will explore how we might harness the power of soils to save us!

Dr Brian Reid is Professor of Soil Science in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia.
