Introduction to the Universe: Sleep Not Essential!

This is an event from the 2019 edition

Join TV astronomer and author Mark Thompson in this introduction to the Universe, with one caveat – Mark has had no sleep for two days… so anything could happen!

In a warm-up to his 2020 record-breaking attempt to lecture for five days straight, Mark will expound the wonders of the Universe, from our nearest satellite the Moon, through our Solar System and the Milky Way Galaxy, to mysterious black holes.

Mark has been enthralling audiences for over 20 years with his fascinating journeys around the universe. Now he is turning his infectious enthusiasm to things a little closer to home with this spectacular show. A regular face on Good Morning Britain, Five News and an established author, Mark was also co-presenter of the original series of BBC’s Stargazing Live.
