Understanding Biodiversity and its Impact on Life and Health

This is an event from the 2017 edition

Biological diversity is crucial for keeping the planet’s ecosystems functioning well. All kinds of organisms rely on these delicately balanced systems for their food and water.

Healthy ecosystems have a direct impact on human health and food security and by studying the way in which certain species adapt to their changing environments we can improve our understanding of biodiversity.

In this talk Tarang Mehta from the Earlham Institute will explain how his research into biodiversity and food production is focussing on some unusual and highly-adapted organisms.
